About Us

As a mom to a toddler, Alison knows firsthand how quickly kids lose interest in their toys—and how often they’re on the hunt for something new. She met Julian (co-founder) while working in Myanmar, and they’ve since built a life across Thailand, Canada, and now Austria. With 14 years of experience in the non-profit and government sectors, Alison has worked on everything from community development to policy advocacy. Her past roles include stints at UN Women, UN Capital Development Fund, The Asia Foundation, HelpAge International, and the Government of Ontario. She brings a big-picture mindset and a practical touch to everything she does—especially when it comes to building something playful and useful from the ground up.

Julian has worn a lot of hats over the years—regional brand manager, head of operations in Mandalay, web designer, and lately, indie game developer. He holds a bachelor’s in Chinese Studies and a master’s in the Society and Economics of East Asia, which first took him to Shanghai and later led to ten years of work and life in Southeast Asia and Canada. His background blends corporate roles with creative projects, from managing teams across borders to helping small organisations rebrand and get online. Now back in Austria, he’s enjoying the challenge of building something from scratch—with toys, games, and heaps of coding in the mix.
